BAPTISM OF BABIES AND YOUNG CHILDREN
"Catholic parents are strongly urged to bring their children to the Church for baptism shortly after their birth, so as to share with them the priceless grace of becoming a child of God." (Catechism of the Catholic Church #1250).

baptism foR CHILDREN OF CATECHETICAL AGE
Children who have attained the age of reason can prepare for Baptism and the other Sacraments of Initiation that are celebrated during one ceremony. Their preparation can be extended over several years. These children need the permission, example and help of their parents. (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults # 242-244)
