There are seven sacraments in the Catholic Church:
Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist, Penance (also known as Reconciliation or Confession), the Anointing of the Sick, Holy Orders and Matrimony.
The sacraments can be grouped as:
Sacraments of Christian initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist);
Sacraments of healing (Penance and Anointing of the Sick); and
Sacraments of service (Holy Orders and Matrimony).
